People may be able to share a used tractor when caring for lawns.
Budgets are tight, leading many to find it difficult to take care of their lawns.
However, syndicated financial columnist Mary Hunt recently had an article featured in the Pasadena Star-News that suggested neighbors could share their used tractors, which could lead to savings.
"You'll need to decide who services the shared lawn mower or stores the rakes and leaf blower," Hunt wrote. "If you are flexible, it's a great way to reduce the cost of homeownership."
Hunt noted there are other areas where people can save on their lawns and gardens. For example, neighbors may be willing to share clippings from bushes, which can be planted and allowed to grow. Even nurseries may dispose of plants they don't think are marketable, which could lead to a free source of plants for a yard.
Neighbors who want to go in together on a used tractor can try a number of buying options when it comes to buying a machine. However, they should take into account their different terrains when buying a mower and factor that in to the type of equipment they buy.
